Washington Oaks State Park - Palm Coast, Florida

Washington Oaks State Park is located on the east coast of Florida just north of Palm Coast.  This little hidden gem on A1A is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Matanzas River on a 425 acres preserve. Featuring one of the largest outcropping of coquina rock on the Atlantic Ocean, Washington Oaks eastern boundary provides its viewers with a picturesque boulder-strewn seascape.

Walkways along the coastal scrub and lush hammock offers much shade from the towering live oaks, hickory and magnolia tress. Meander along the pathways to the scenic tidal marshes of the Matanzas River.

The 20 acres of formal gardens provide an amazing zen-like experience to enjoy the beautiful landscaping and just enjoy the wonders of nature.

For the history buff, the Washington Oaks State Park is rich in history first dating back to the early 1500's.  Please visit the Wiki website:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Oaks_Gardens_State_Park for a more complete historical snapshot.
